U-Turn is an organisation that works in a variety of ways to establish the long term rehabilitation of street people, particularly in the Cape Town southern suburbs. They do this in different ways, including implementing a meal/clothing voucher initiative, helping street people find accommodation with partner organisations and hosting a rehabilitation program where street people are equipped with the skills to support themselves.
The donation of clothing to the organisation is one way in which the public can help and is crucial to the success of the organisation. Lwandle has partnered with U-Turn to host a clothing donation bin where the tenants of Black River Park can drop off any old clothing for use in the U-Turn clothing store for the homeless, or for donation to the various U-Turn charity shops. We are very excited about supporting this worthwhile initiative, and invite anyone with old clothing to come by and donate.
